Great Grand Master Lam Cho

In Hong-Kong Lam Cho is a very famous Dit Dar healer and also a well-known Hung-Gar master. Both are backed up by a great tradition. Lam Cho was an orphan at Ping Chow in Canton province. He was adopted by his uncle Lam Sai Wing, who was a top student of Southern China's hero Wong Fei Hung. Later, Lam Cho assisted his uncle by teaching kung-fu at his Southern Physical Culture Center, where he also learned bone setting and healing. Lam Sai Wing had no children of his own but he looked after Lam Cho like his own son, passing down the bulk of his Hung-Gar knowledge to him. Moving to Hong Kong in the early days of the Republic, the uncle and nephew made Hong-Kong their permanent home, and Lam Cho eventually took over Lam Sai Wing's Kung Fu school. Some years later Lam Cho opened one of his own branches in Hong-Kong's Wanchai district, and the other branch was in Kowloon. His inherited fame from Wong Fei Hung and Lam Sai Wing was accentuated and augmented by his own natural talents, strong physique, and determination. Subsequently, students flocked from throughout the Southern region to learn Hung Gar from the great master Lam Cho; among them were Chan Heun Chung, Ho See Kit, Chiu Kau and Wong Lei. They one by one went on to become instructors and open schools throughout the region, and Lam Cho presided over the institutions as chief instructor of the association. Some of his students, e.g. Kong, also went to America, including Y.C.Wong who is in San Francisco now, and in Boston is Tang Kwok Wah. Today, Grandmaster Lam Cho's sons, namely Lam Chun Fai and Lam Chun Sing are the successors of his great Kung Fu.
